I am a rising senior at the
The College of William and Mary in
Virginia who is thrilled to
apply for the chance to conduct research
in Hungary during
2010/2011via a Fulbright grant. I have come to the
understanding that the
better my connections by the application due
date, the better my chances
are of receiving the grant. Furthermore, I
certainly deserve to
receive the grant as I bring an important and
relevant research topic to
the table.
My research proposal
focuses on the changing business environment in
Hungary since it's
separation from communism in the
late 80s and its
trouble with capitalism in
the early 90s. More specifically, I want to
focus on small to medium
sized businesses/entrepreneurs because that
will give me a greater
chance to interact more directly with the
owners and managers to see
how they use technology to reach their
target markets and how
their employee/customer satisfaction ratings
compare with other well
established capitalist nations.
I am looking for several
things:
1. I would like to find
a host (family) in Budapest, Szeged, Debrecen,
Miskolc, Pecs, or other
cities you may recommend. Preferably the host
will be an entrepreneur or
a business owner as this will greatly
benefit my
research
2. I think this is where
you can help me most: I would like to find
business professors with
whom I can meet and whom will support my
research and help me
develop more contacts. I would not require much
of their time, but maybe a
few meetings, and regular contact via phone
or email.
3. I would like to find a
small business association or group that I
can join to increase my
network and use to collect data
If you can help me out with
referrals for any of those four items, I
would greatly appreciate
it. I am glad to have found your organization
and I am eager to see how
you may be able to help me out. Please
forward this message to
members you think may want to help. Also, if
you would like more info on
my proposal, please ask!
Thanks!
